Extremadura regional television, Extremadura Channel, has bought the short film “Anniversary”, directed by Nayra and Javier Sanz Fuentes, through an agreement with the distributor La Botica Audiovisual. The film will be released on Fridays in the space “The short night” as well as on its website in VOD mode.
The film “As Old as the World” will participate in the “Ciclo Indie” organized every year by the Film Academy of Madrid. The filmmakers, Nayra and Javier Sanz Fuentes, will introduce the film that will be screened on June 14th at 7:00 pm in the Film Academy of Madrid (Calle Zurbano 3), and the admission are free. The week of April 20 we were at the 44th Visions du Réel (Switzerland) with the World Premiere of the new work of the filmmaker Victor Moreno, “La Piedra” (“The Stone”), in which Nayra Sanz Fuentes worked as an Associate producer. The film participated in the Official Section of medium length and had a very good reception! “The Stone” was filmed in Haria (Lanzarote), and is led by Santiago Navarro, a local sculptor that has been working the volcanic rock of the island for many years.
“As Old as the World”, the first feature film of Nayra and Javier Sanz Fuentes, is now on sale at the bookstore La Central of the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid. If you want to buy a copy, you can find it in the film section that is on the third floor. La Central del Reina Sofia has decided to specialize itself in new spanish cinema, and so far has titles like “Holidays” by Victor Moreno, “Los Materiales” by the Collective Los Hijos and “The Tree” by Carlos Serrano Azcona, among other .
On Monday 13th of May, at 8.30 pm, the first feature Nayra and Javier Sanz Fuentes, “As Old as the World” will be projected at the House of Culture of El Paso, on the island of La Palma, in the program “Canary Film”. The series is organized by “Proyecto Semilla”, which is developing many different cultural activities. So whoever is on the island do not miss this week of cinema!
On Friday, 17th of May, at 7.00 pm, will be presented the DVD “As Old as the World”, the first feature from Nayra and Javier Sanz Fuentes in the bookstore La Cental of the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid. The event is part of the sample “New spanish filmmaking”, coordinated by Alberto Berzosa, and organized by “Margins. Spanish cinema on the margen” and the bookstore La Central. On this ocassion the presentation will be made by Alicia Albadalejo, film critic for the magazine Caimán. Journal of cinema, along with the director Nayra Sanz Fuentes.
